Has it almost been a month since the last post? Apparently. Well, it's time to remedy that...
Do you have a thing for flying dogs? Actually, it doesn't matter if you do or not. Just watch this video, and try not to "get anything" from it.
My mother likes to knit. She has made her share of sweaters, etc. in her knitting career, but I don't think she has ever knit a digestive system.
I hate coffee. I love the smell, but can't stand the taste. Plus, it's horrible for you. But, hey, if it's your thing, go crazy. Maybe you're seeing shining, happy people too.
How do you feel when you remember the 80's? Happy? Sad? Acid-washed? Do you remember the great TV from the 80's? Happy Days, A-Team, Dukes of Hazard, which all replay on cable and satellite. But what doesn't show up on the shows (thank goodness) is the commercials that aired with them. No problem, you can watch them here. Sadly, I remembered a few.
When you consider the most manliest men to ever be on TV, it's a pretty short list and David Hasselhoff has to be near the top. (Did I ever tell you I made a TV commercial?) If you've ever wanted to get your hands on his manly, hairy chest, this is your opportunity. (Did I ever tell you ... never mind)
I've never played the video game "Soul Caliber," but after seeing this video, I want to. Crank up the volume and get your freak on.
What do these words make you think of: Mahna Mahna? What if I added "do do do do?" Hopefully you're thinking of the greatest muppet scene ever. If you're thinking of bird droppings, seek help.
This is really cool - a flipping ship. It has the ability to flip from horizontal to vertical while at sea. They also answered my first question with the pictures: while the ship is vertical, how do you go to the bathroom? They thought of everything.
Have a great day, everyone!

How to Catch an Anaconda
Anaconda (giant snake): average weight is about 126-150kg (about 275-330lbs), females average 6.7-7.9m (22-26ft) in length, while males average 3-4m (12-16ft). So if one is terrorizing your farm animals, how do you catch it? Using yourself as bait, of course.
This site shows the construction of the world's tallest bridge, which has been in use for a while in France. Someday I would love to drive across it.
Beautiful pictures of earth as seen from the sky. Enjoy.
My wife love to paint. She hasn't been able to paint very much lately, but hopefully that will change this summer. Her style is more landscapes and flowers, but this 3D painting is really quite amazing.
To all those people who I may have offended with my views on the athleticism of curlers, may I offer a peace offering in the form of Puppy Curling.
Keeping with the puppy theme, here is a question: (It may seen shocking, but stay with me) How much money would it take for you to kill a puppy with your bare hands? This video asks people that question, and the answers may surprise you.
Have a great day, everyone!

That's Naco Cheese!
That's the great thing about university: you can do or try anything crazy and no one even questions you. Like, when someone says, "Let's create a giant nacho cheese fountain", no one stops and thinks about why, because the answer is obvious: We Can.

What? Is that warm weather?
Thank goodness it's finally warmer. I could actually walk to volleyball last night and not have my nostrils frozen together by the time I got there.
If you're a Star Trek fan, and even if you're not but are familiar with the characters, you'll find this funny. I promise. Thank you, YouTube.
The good old Atari days. I didn't actually have an Atari as a kid, but friends did. I was an Intellivision owner, but if you can remember grabbing that joystick and firing away at Space Invaders, you'll enjoy hanging your coat on it.
You know what a fan I am of great marketing, and this is not - unless you consider very annoying to be clever. I can't believe this made it on TV.
Because we are so cultured at the Friday File, I need to post some beautiful pictures of one of the largest waterfalls in the world, Iguassu. Look and enjoy.
Well, we survived the Great Blizzard of '07, and now the States is getting hammered, as evidenced by these pictures. This makes me wonder, what's worse: a blizzard, or a sand storm? I think I'll pick a blizzard, because there's nothing more annoying than sand in your shorts.
And to finish today, the cold weather can play havoc with vehicles. Trouble starting, wear and tear - all made worse when you add water to the mix.

Happy Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! It's that time of year for overpriced flowers and unashamed commercial money-making. Here's hoping that the spirit of the day stays with you throughout the year. Staying with the theme of the day - parallel dating.

It's Friday!
I've had enough of the cold weather - it can warm up anytime. My parents are in Texas right now and have the audacity to complain about the cold weather at night, and how they have to turn the furnace on. Poor babies. I don't think my furnace has turned off in days.
This one is devoted to Leanne, our resident bee expert. Check out the video about Japanese bees - I don't think I want to mess with them, although it would definitely be warmer than here.
You know what a fan we at the Friday File are of creative furniture, and this is one of the most creative pieces we have seen. Need a chair to fit in a corner? Around a corner? How about seating for two? Three? No problem, just pull out the folding chair.
Do you ever get confused about who you are? Not your name, but what you do. When people ask you what your job title is, can you actually tell them? Sometimes it helps to be able to ask someone, like a friendly security guard.
When I was in college, one of my responsibilities was to unlock the buildings early in the morning. Some of the guys in the dorm also wanted me to wake them up. One guy was particularly difficult to wake up - I literally had to put both hands on his back and shake him as hard as I could. He could have used the Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock.

Robotic Arm Rides, 5 Cents
Thrill-seeker? Love amusement parks? Go for a ride on the robotic arm. I hope it's not run by Windows. (Make sure you watch the video)

Don't Forget to Tuck in Your Plasma...
It's always been a problem: you buy a beautiful 50" plasma TV for your bedroom, but where do you put it? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to put it away when you're not using it? Why not slip it under the bed? Your underwear is already under there. (Make sure to watch the video)

Good Old NES
Did you have a Nintendo at one time? You know, Duck Hunt, Mario Bros., etc... Someone on eBay is selling every game ever made for the NES, so if you're nostalgic for those yesteryears, go on over and make a bid. You may want to pool your money with a friend, though, because at the time of this posting it was up over $220,000 US.

Indoors, women are useful - even pleasant!
Yes, according to this ad, it's true - men are better than women. We owe the sweater industry a debt of gratitude for taking the time and money to show us the way. By the way, if I ever look like those two, shoot me.

Shaq...
Professional athletes make ridiculous amounts of money. Well, except for the CFL. So what kind of things do they blow their money on? Oh, all kinds of things. Today's example: Shaq's vehicle.

Need Help Cutting Your Chicken?
This is both interesting and scary. If you feel the need to protect yourself on a plane or are frustrated with the plastic cutlery, but can't seem to get past security with a normal knife, then you need the Sapphire Knife. No metal, can't be detected, but can cut through glass. Insert curiosity/horror here.

We're Back, Baby!!
Yes, this post is officially being made from our new home. Things have finally quieted down a bit, so I'm taking the time to make a post.
We survived the Great Blizzard of 2007. It was pretty crazy here - I stayed home from work for a day and a half because, well, it would have been stupid to leave the house. Of course, it didn't stop some people from going out. This video isn't from the blizzard, but from bad driving conditions in Portland. These people should've stayed home.

Stupid Is As Stupid Does...
We all used to do stupid things as kids. What level we stopped at depended on our risk factor and the people we were hanging out with. Did you ever try flattening a can of WD-40 with a sledgehammer? If you didn't, here's what will happen. If you did, well, I hope your eyebrows have grown back.

My Kingdom for a Night's Sleep
Sleep deprived. That's the best way to describe parenthood. Forget the adjectives rewarding, fulfilling or "so cute". Did you know parents of a newborn lose between 400 and 750 hours of sleep the first year? This and 39 other facts about sleep can be found here.

Back in Business!!
Wow! The last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind of activity. First, on December 15, our second daughter was born. Yipee! It was a much better experience than the first in every single aspect. She is doing great and even sleeping sometimes.
Next, 1 day after our daughter was born, I travelled to Saskatoon for a final interview with the company I will be working for. Yes, that's right, we are moving to Saskatoon. We have already bought a house there and are busy lining up moving dates, mortgages, lawyers, etc. It's been crazy, but that's our style: Go big or go home.
So that's the big news. Want more details? Drop me a line and I can fill you in on all the juicy tidbits.
And today's link: Think you live in poverty? Check out this site - you may be richer than you think. Something to be thankful for today.

The World's Dumbest Criminal
Let this be a lesson to you: If you're going to rob a liquor store, make sure you're sober.

I Call Shotgun!!
We've all done it. You're going out somewhere and you don't want to ride in the backseat, so you call shotgun to sit in the front. Problem is, someone else calls it as well. What do you do? Well, you could beat each other up until the last person standing gets the seat, or you could refer to the shotgun guide to see who gets it. I'd print out a copy and keep it in your wallet. You never know.
